Staff Recommendations for Teens

Summer Programing:

June:

Escape Room-Thursday June 29th 6:30-8:00 PM

Work as a team to find clues and solve puzzles in an attempt to escape out of the library in under an hour!

This program will take place after library hours from 6:30-8. Please sign up at the front desk as space is limited.

July:

Nerf Games- Wednesday July 12th 5:00-6:00 PM & 6:00-7:00 PM

Join us for a fun battle with NERF blasters! Taking place in the lawn next to the library participates will break into teams and challenge each other in this fun event.

Please sign up at the front desk as space is limited.

5:00-6:00 PM session is for tweens and younger teens, 6:00-7:00 PM session is for older teens and adults.

In the event inclement weather this will take place in St. Therese’s gymnasium at 128 Cedar Street.

Crafts for a Cause- Wednesday July 26th 3:00-5:00 PM

Come to the library and make a blanket that will then be donated to the local police department. Blankets are given to children in families who need the comfort during difficult times.

August:

Wayland (Kindness) Rocks! – Tuesday August 1st  12:00-2:00 PM

Outdoor Mario Kart Tournament- Wednesday August 16th 8:00-10:00 PM

Join us for an outdoor Mario Kart Tournament using our blow up projector. This will take place at 8:00 with snacks and the tournament will start shortly after dark.

Eclipse Party- Monday August 21st 2:00-4:00 PM

We’ll be watching the solar eclipse from out side lot. Snacks and protective eye ware will be provided.

This is a family event so people of all ages are invited to participate.

Ongoing Programs:

Makerspace- Every Monday from June 19th – August 28th from  11:00AM-7:00PM

Join us upstairs at the gaming table for the makerspace. Different items will be made available each week for patron use including but not limited to colorful duct tape, origami paper, re purposing supplies, Legos, decoupage supplies and more.

Coding Club-

Come hang out at the library and practice your coding skills. Each meeting will have a fun coding challenge. Work as a team or on your own to develop your coding skills.

Some library laptops are available but if you have your own device (laptop, ipad or smartphone) feel free to bring it.

Each meeting takes place from 4:00-5:00 PM at the library.
